As you will read, Faversham has a significant maritime history, the largest boat ever launched sideways was built and launched on the Creek, and much of this history is interwoven with the history of the Thames Barges, once important to the trade of the United Kingdom. If you are interested in the history of the Thames Barges we have available to buy copies of the film Red Sails on DVD which was made by Faversham film maker Mike Maloney.
